Arbor A-Frame

Arbor A-Frame

The Arbor A-Frame is a extra stable freeride snowboard. The A-Frame features carbon fiber inlays and a progressive sidecut which provide a lot of stability on deep powder and improves carving on hardpack. The A-Frame features Arbor's Powerhouse tail which will provide a solid landing point for airs and also keep you afloat in pow. The board features a full length wood topsheet, which looks sick and a Paulownia Wood Core, which is ultralight.

You have to love the look of this board, it is absolutely gorgeous in person. Riders who are used to riding softer, freestyle boards will be in for a totally different experience on the A-Frame. You really feel much more solid on the board and are really able to rip up the mountain! Riders give the A-Frame great marks. If you are in a powder rich area, you should definitely check out the Arbor A-Frame. The A-Frame comes in sizes: 154, 158, 162, 166 and 170.

This is a great board to ride on the groomers. It really locks into a turn and allows you to rip across the runs at high speed. To ride this board you always need to be on and riding quick. This is an agressive board. It’s a little hard in the trees and the really quick stop turns since it’s so stiff. I noticed when I was going to initiate a turn in the steep terrain you really need to commit to flying down the hill because of the stiffness of the board.

I have riden the Arbor Roundhouse which really locks in as well, but it turns easier because of the flex of the board.

Just wrapping up my 4th season on this board, and I have one thing to say: Killer pow-riding ability.

Like JG said, the faster you ride this board, the better the control (especially in the deep stuff).

To me it feels pretty stiff, but the plus side of this is that I’ve experience great pop off of natural kickers, and the more you lean back in deep pow, the more it gives back. Much much nicer than the old Ride Yukon and Burton Custom that I was riding prior.

Bonus: lift-line compliments and finding fellow natural-wood brothers.

If you ride pow and rip groomers at high speed, this is the board for you. I will never go back to anything else. Probably for more experienced riders because it takes a little more to turn it. Pricey, but well worth it.
