Cheap Snowboards
If you are looking for a cheap snowboard, there are a couple things to keep in mind:
- What is your budget?
- How long are you planning on using the board?
- Are you looking to buy new or used?
Buying a cheap snowboard can be a great experience or it can be a nightmare. I’ve had decent experience buying secondhand snowboards. I also know a couple buddies that have bought used snowboards with serious base damage and lost a couple hundred dollars.
If you are an adult and have stopped growing, you should really consider spending the extra cash upfront and buying a new board. You are going to be dropping $50 a pop for lift tickets anyway, so you might as well shell out a couple extra bucks for the board you really want. If you are looking to buy a new snowboard, each of our reviews has a price comparison script below it that pulls prices from 6 online shops - you should be able to find the lowest price.
If you are a beginner or are still growing, it might be worth buying a used board to start off. If you are a beginner, it is going to get beat up anyway. Cheap snowboards can be readily found on Ebay and Craigslist, just be sure to cheap out the base and edges carefully. You don’t want to end up with something that has already been trashed.
