GNU Riders Choice

The GNU Riders Choice has been totally redesigned for this year! Zach Leach, Hampus Mosseson, and Kyle Clancy took over the design this year. The Riders Choice features EISS 9 sidewalls and a sintered 9900 base. In a co-operative effort with Lib Tech, GNU is also now offering the Riders Choice in Magne-Traction. Magne-Traction adds seven contact points on each side of your board which provide extra grip. You really have to try a magne-traction board to experience the difference!
Riders are reporting that the Riders Choice with Magne-Traction sticks to icy halfpipe walls like nothing else.
The Riders Choice is available in both Line and Magne-Traction models in sizes 147.5, 151.5, 154.5, 157.5 and 161.5.

Comment by Dad O. Asnowboarder
as a Dad of a longtime, very talented snowboarder that helps with the equipment bills, I am not too impressed with GNU boards from a customer service standpoint. My son says they ride great but it doesn’t appear to me that they hold up well.
We have purchased at least 2 GNU boards now with the latest being a 08 riders choice. The 08 riders choice is a couple of months old and already the GNU letters on the bottom of the board are delaminating. Took the board back to where we purchased, they have no authorization to take the return, the board gets sent off to GNU and we continue to wait, 1 week now with at least another week before we are supposedly to hear the verdict. The dealer is vague, the snow is falling and my kid is out of a board. I am not impressed for a $400.00 dollar purchase.
I have been in sales for 25 years and we take care of our clients on the spot by giving our distributors the authority to take returns and issue new product. Why won’t GNU?
The previous board from last year is another story I won’t get into here but is similar. I will say that the top delaminated and we were told it wasn’t covered by warranty.
Buy GNU if you must and hope it doesn’t have a warranty issue ’cause you might be sliding down hill on the soles of your boots during the return/evaluation/maybe no replacement process.

Clearly Dad O. doesn’t have a clue what he’s talking about”the GNU letters on the bottom of the board are delaminating”? Come on. This wouldn’t even happen unless the whole base ripped off. I would guess this is one of those parents that thinks their little angel can do no wrong, when in fact their kid abusing the hell out of his gear in order to get mommy and daddy to buy new gear… The reason Mervin didn’t get back to him is because they saw normal base wear and don’t give new boards to retards…
The GNU rider’s choice is one of the best boards on the market as TWS and plenty of other sources have declared… And I’m sure Mervin Mfg’s customer service is also excellent provided you aren’t a parent without a clue freaking out for your little snotbag…
He helps with the equipment bills… Good for him…
