Lamar Cruiser
The Lamar Cruiser is an all-mountain performance snowboard from Lamar's bronze series. The Cruiser features a versaflex full wood core and edge link sidewall construction. The Cruiser comes in sizes 144, 149, 154, 157, 159 and 163.
The Lamar Cruiser is a good beginner to intermediate board. Advanced riders should probably avoid this board though, as it really lacks edge grip. The board also requires quite a bit of maintenance because the base is not sintered. The board can be found for ~$100 price point on ebay, which makes it a great value for beginners.

I have almost a full season in on my Cruiser 163 and I have been very pleased. This is my first board and for the price, it is very tough to beat. Compared to the rentals I’ve used in the past, this board is more responsive and predictable. You can get a complete package with boots, bindings, and board for a very reasonable price (but watch the bindings from Lamar, I’ve already broken a ratchet on my right binding so we’ll see how good their customer service turns out to be).
All in all, if you are a beginner in the snowboarding world, this is a great board and I would very highly recommend it.

I’m not too extreme of a rider but I’ve ridden this board for about 3 seasons now and it’s done every thing I’ve asked of it, from double black diamond runs to powder to small hits. I really like this board. A very good board for a great price.

I’ve been riding for about four years. I have had many off brand boards and nothing really even compares to a Lamar board. They are reasonably priced and the performance is amazing. The only problem with Lamar is that it is underrated. Everyone says Burton is the best board out there, but the rider makes the board, the board doesnt make the rider

Lamar Cruiser 154 was my first board good price but cheap product. I only recommend this for beginners up to lower intermediate. This my Lamar’s laminate is peeling away, and getting water in to the board. The metal “M” is coming off, and the inserts for the bindings are loose. This board has lasted me no more than two years, and is now time for it to retire. I am looking at other boards to purchase for next season.
Comment on Dave’s comment: I have heard of another person owning a lamar binding and it too had fallen apart. My brother had purchased some Lamar boots and they are too big for his Triple Nickle (another off-brand) bindings.
P.S. response is YOU not the board, predicting comes from experience
Comment on Rojo’s comment: Double Black Diamonds is extreme unless you are just sideslipping then you are still a beginner (head back to the bunny slopes)
Comment on Tomey Tomes’ comment: Yes, it is reasonably priced its cheap = product is cheap, performance comes from you.
BTW have you tried Burton?

My son has used this board for three years – I bought it as a cheap board for myself but he liked it better than his UnInc board, so we switched. He now does front and backflips with it, and beats all his friends on downhill races with much more expensive and name brand equipment.
The board is light and VERY flexible, easy to turn and control. Combined with Cartels or Mission bindings, it is hard to beat.
I just bought a new one for myself and I have to tell you that I hope the keep making them forever !!!!

I love my lamar board, I have had it for 3 seasons, And wont part with it, I want to upgrade to a new one, but cant find one near where I live. Iv had a few burton boards,(mr have you tried burton) and just found them wide and heavy, Im not the kind of snowboarder that flips and kicks whenever I get a chance, I like hitting the powder, on the unpisted slopes. Lamar for me is uncomparable to other boards, but Its all down to the rider, every boards different, this one just happens to fit me well, `SO in my opinion the best board.

i love my board it has good graphics it rides smooth and its solid. ive smashed it off a few trees in the woods.. did nothing to it. i love this board and i got it for 75$!! with bindings but the bindings were crap so i took some ride bindings i had and put it on them. best board ive had!! ive tried burton.. dont like them my friend had one it got pushed over in his room and the laminate cracked.. id prefer this board over any other board. but thats just my opinion
